4 Week Class on Zoom
Why do we wait until we’re in a crisis before we start thinking about the end of life? This class will provide a safe space to discuss, share, and ponder the various choices and options for the end of life experience before a crisis presents itself.
Combining group discussion, documentaries, and teaching by Carin Bonifacino, each week will focus on a different aspect (or aspects) of the death and dying experience. These include, but are not limited to, the medicalization of death, legal documents and paperwork to fill out and discuss with your family, options for funerals and burial, end of life doulas, VSED, and physician assisted death.
Participants will also receive a workbook that they can use in conjunction with the class. The workbook is an informal document in which each person can fill in their instructions and wishes for their end of life care.

The structure of the class will be as follows:
The first half-hour of each class will be spent in sharing.
Night one: Introductions
Nights 2,3, and 4: What is coming up for you as you fill out the workbook; or what from last week’s class are you still contemplating; or what conversations with family or friends is this class inspiring?
The next hour of class will be spent going over the topic of the evening, or watching a short (1 hour or less) documentary.
The final half-hour will then be discussion and/or question and answer about the evening’s topic.
